Somewhere beyond the sea

Welcome to Part Two of our fabulous Whitsunday escape! It`s taken me a while to get these shots out, mainly because we've been having such a darn good time lately that I just haven't been at the computer much. We are taking full advantage of having these beauties in Oz...more adventures on the way soon!

How blue is that water?! I think one of the most calming remedies for life’s little tensions has to be laying on a sailboat watching the waves go by. If you don’t believe me just try sailing for a day...it’s impossible to hold on to any negative energy at sea, the breeze simply propels it out of your system. And that only leaves room in the soul for some joyous jumping...off the side of the boat of course.

From the boat we had the chance to jump in and swim the shallow waters around the reef, which was awesome for snorkeling. But since summer brings with it the deadly stinger season, we had to do all of our snorkeling suited up. Bonus!! Seriously, dosen`t everyone look smokin' hot in a wetsuit?! It was all worthwhile when we saw a giant green turtle gliding right past our fingertips.

We had a really awesome group on board...boat loads of Canadians (hehe)...but the skipper was a whole 'nother story. I think he must have been caught up in a brief moment of wishful thinking when he decided to name his sailboat Spank Me, (if he was in fact the one responsible for giving such a beautiful boat such an ugly name). And even though he was about as obnoxious as the name he chose for his vessel, we just tuned him out when necessary. Like I said before, all dramas are lost at sea!

Those snorkels pretty complicated boys?!

Postcard from Paradise

Alright folks, if you are sitting at your computer, longing for a little slice of heaven, you’ve come to the right place! Get comfy and settle in for a breather, some fresh air, a short break from reality...this post (part one) features a ton of snaps from our most recent vacay, celebrating Australia Day at the Whitsunday seas with our gorgeous friends Kelly & Delaney. I know, I know...you loyal readers must be thinking ‘does this girl even have a real job or that just a stealthy facade she puts on??' But I swear, I do have a job, i promise, a really really great job that allows us to thoroughly enjoy our time in Oz!

So what better place to meet up with our beauty friends than in Airlie Beach, where the air is hot and the drinks are cool. We have missed these lovely faces since we moved our lives to Brissy a year and a half ago and now getting to reunite at sea has been nothing short of fabulous.

The four of us spent a glorious two days and two nights sailing the Whitsundays, a collection of 74 of some of the world’s most beautiful islands dotting the Coral Sea. One morning was spent on the pure white sands of Whitehaven beach, once voted the second most beautiful beach in the world. The water is crystal clear and a dip in this perfect liquid works wonders for cooling down the soaring body temps. We spotted several reef sharks and rays looming around our toes.

Pure bliss.

During the evenings we sipped on bevys and watched the sun set on the horizon. When all the stars were out we fell asleep on the deck to the songs of dolphins, while the boat slowly rocked us to sleep.
